…welcome to my World!

The Last 10% and the affect of Social Networking

March8

It’s coming to an end of an era, the end of my University life is upon me and I am down to the last 10% of my studies. I never realised how hard the last 10% would be, the previous 90% has been a dribble compared to this! With no exams, I just have 8 deadlines of projects to meet over the next 8 weeks. From mini-essays, photography exhibition and of course, my dissertation: The Portsmouth Food Guide.

The likes on Twitter, Facebook and of course my blog are not helping my cause, I find myself searching for inspiration and creative ideas, but they usually take me straight back to the heroine that is social networking. According to the University of Minnesota, what students do outside of the classroom affects their life in more ways than one. The study found that social networking is not only causing negative affects on grades, but also a lack in sleep, exercise, increased consumption of alcohol and tobacco, along with marijuana use.

So, to all your online socialites out there, put down you quarter pounder with cheese and get out the house (put that macbook down!). Your mind, body and soul need a re-charge… and I need to graduate this spring.

Adios!
